In Formula 1600 class we used an inexpensive and well-tried Hewland LD200 gearbox. The selective 5-speed gearbox with fast-changing clutches is situated in a single sump with final drive and limited-slip differential. It’s also possible to use the most modern Formula 3 sequential gearbox.
